PUNTA GORDA, FL, JULY 18, 2025 — Amid rising concerns over crime, government overreach, and political polarization, constitutional conservative and veteran trial attorney Steven Leskovich, J.D., Ed.D., has formally launched his campaign for Florida Attorney General, pledging to restore law and order, defend constitutional rights, and protect Floridians from political abuse of power.
With 25 years of extensive courtroom litigation experience in both federal and state criminal/civil courts, deep roots in Florida law and government, and a Doctorate in Education in Organizational Change & Leadership from USC, Leskovich is uniquely positioned to serve as Florida’s top law enforcement officer. He currently serves as the Interim City Attorney for Punta Gorda and as an elected Commissioner for the Charlotte County Airport Authority, overseeing a $75 million budget and more than 2,000 acres of infrastructure.
“I’m running to protect every Floridian — not divide them,” said Leskovich. “As Attorney General, I will defend the Constitution, back law enforcement, fight human trafficking and organized crime, and ensure no Floridian is ever silenced, harassed, or threatened regardless of party or belief.
